We like Yukiko's pieces for its understated beauty and functional brewing considerations. As a potter who practices Chinese Tea Ceremony, she creates pieces that are both easy to use, and reflects the calm spirit and clean aesthetics of the sort of Chinese Tea brewing that we admire!
This simple katakuchi is perfect for cooling hot water for brewing teas requiring lower temperatures, as well as serving teas to be drank at a more comfortable temperature. Yukiko has chosen to feature peonies in this series of teaware as she likes the antique beauty of peonies. We agree, because we think the rustic peony carvings adds an impression of passage of time to these teaware pieces!
The glazed nature suits it for serving all teas neutrally.
