Grown on the pristine foothills of the Himalayas, and harvested at the turn of winter into spring in mid February at 1600masl, the leaves are super lightly oxidized to preserve its fresh favours harnessed by chilly growing conditions. Recently sourced from our trip to Darjeeling, we were impressed by the efforts that the estate owner Mr Rishi had put into developing the most interesting flavourscape for his teas! This AV2 cultivar tea also has the advantage of enjoying superb growing conditions at the highest estate in Darjeeling! A delicate black tea, it benefits from a lower temperature & shorter steeping time to coax out more complex flavours: a comforting almond base, layered with melon sweetness & citrus highlights, embedded in a medium bodied liquor. Like the taste of Spring time!
