We were admiring the textures of this piece of shiborodashi, with a background of chalk embellished with streaks and patches of copper and khaki, and we are amazed this tea ware is actually fired in an electric kiln! Andrzej masterfully layers his glazes to create beautiful colours, creating illusions of reduction firing often requiring gas or wood kilns to create. The benefit for using an electric kiln is that he has more control over how the eventual look would turn out! The lid is adorned with a carved motif that reminds us the Japanese waves patterns of Seigaiha!

A good size shiboridashi for drinking alone or with another companion. The stoneware nature of this pot retains more heat, thus is more suitable for aged whites, oolongs, black teas/ honchos or dark teas!
