This lot completely embodies the happy youth of the sort of young puers that we are besotted with! In its loose form, the flavours are more focussed on vibrant sweetness with a lilt of cool breeze, like rock sugar! Though young, this raw puer is of a gentle character, without the harshness that many associate with young raw puers. Xiao Hu Zhai 小户赛 in MengKu Township of Lincang is known for well preserved gardens of old tea tree. Grown at 1700masl from the Lincang Big-leaf cultivar 临沧大叶种, this tea combines the 柔 gentleness and 甜 sweetness dimensions in raw puer. Brews dry sweet hay and notes of guava with glucose like sweetness that lingers in the throat.
