Meizi 美子, Tainan, Taiwan
Meizi first fell in love with art, then she met tea. Her real joy is in making teaware with forms and textures that are creative and artistic, and developed the functionality of teaware over time as she accumulated tea-brewing experience.
We love how the porcelain gaiwan is made simply. The black handle charcoal motif on the handle and black ink stroke on the rim lends a wabi-sabi mood to the pot. This Gaiwan is made from English porcelain, which Meizi likes for its warmer hue. The glazed nature of the gaiwan suits it for brewing all types of teas.
