We first got acquainted with Yukiko's items when we chanced upon them in at an exhibition in Taipei! As a ceramic artist who also brews tea, she makes teaware that are practical for tea brewing. We think her gaiwan pieces have a rounded compact proportion, which gives it a somewhat 'kawaii' form. The mandarin line is an unglazed portion of the clay, which you can see too from the exposed clay at the base! A good sized katakuchi with a muted colour, which is easy to match with other teaware.
