We first got acquainted with Yukiko's items when we chanced upon them in at an exhibition in Taipei! As a ceramic artist who also brews tea, she makes teaware that are practical for tea brewing. We think her gaiwan pieces have a rounded compact proportion, which gives it a somewhat 'kawaii' form. The orange line is an unglazed portion of the clay which changed from light colour to orange due to the interaction of the surrounding glaze and the original clay! This stoneware gaiwan is perfect for kungfu tea brewing for 1 person or tasting small portions of tea. The glazed nature are also suited to brew all types of tea neutrally, and is recommended for the tea brewing who enjoys a range of teas!
