As with many of Andrzej's pieces, we like his simple form which is lightly embellished. Here the shiboridashi's natural clay texture is exposed on the exterior with hand carved scallop form, and contrasted with the milk glazed lid. Both the beauty of the clay and the glaze is highlighted in the selective application of glaze! This is glazed interiorly which suits it to brew most teas. However, the unglazed exterior of the shiboridashi may get stained over time - like maturation and seasoning of the pot with use. For folks who like the pot less obviously stained, we would recommend to brew with lighter teas like white or light oolongs!
