Aka TTES no. 18, Hong Yu 红玉 is a hybrid cultivar from a Burmese Assamica tea plant & Taiwanese wild tea plant, usually made into black teas. This batch is harvested from Yuchi township in Nantou, which is known for black tea cultivation in Taiwan. The brew has distinctive notes of menthol & eucalyptus, embedded in a medium-bodied mouthfeel with light honey sweetness! Retaining some of its wild tea plant character, Hong Yu brews a robust a black tea! Like a breakfast tea with a hint of cool, refreshing mint!
