We first got acquainted with Yukiko's items when we chanced upon them in at an exhibition in Taipei! As a ceramic artist who also brews tea, she makes teaware that are practical for tea brewing. These tea cups are made from a light brown clay from Saga Prefecture from Kyushu that contains iron, and in the kiln, interacts with the coated white glaze to become a mellow pine green color! The character of these cups are mellow, unassuming and rustic. Yukiko explained that the effect of the matt glaze aids in softening the harsh flavours of stronger teas!
