When Mr Hong made this piece, he had the 'fragrance' cup in mind. This elegant cup can be used as a fragrance cup where tea is poured in and poured out into a katakuchi, and used for 'fragrance' purpose. Or one can use this as a proper bigger tea cup. The dewy texture of this matt porcelain piece is achieved by a feldspar glaze, which is slightly porous. Thus the cup may be change colour over time. Mr Hong likens this to the piece developing a deeper character as it matures with use.
