蜜香红茶 =Honey-fragrance Hongcha. Not that the honey bees get much credit here but it’s the work of the little leaf hoppers, whose bites elicit a defensive leaf response producing these complex flavours! 蜜香红茶 and 蜜香乌龙 are both teas that were inspired by the original leaf-hopper creation of Oriental Beauty, an Taiwanese Oolong tea know for its intense sweetness. This Hongcha is made from TTES20 迎香 Ying Xiang, a hybrid with the Jing Xuan as a parent tree, the tasting notes evolve from heady perfumy fragrance in the first to orange peels with multiple steeps. Like a summer dream!
