Duck Shit Dancong leaves an impression for a variety of reasons, and its unusual name definitely contributed to its attention! One of the stories talked about a farmer that did not want to share the secret of his new super fragrant tea and brushed his enquirers off by saying - it's just Duck Shit! Dancongs are teas traditionally made and drank by the Teochew people, they are loved for their naturally occuring sweet flavours. The Duck Shit is a more comparatively recent method of processing that started in the 1900s, with lighter oxidation thus lighter teas. This batch surprised us with a butterscotch sweetness in the first brew, which evolves into a smooth creamy texture with a hint of tropical fruits. The floral notes lingers into the finish. Not exactly what we duck’s shit taste like yah?
