Our farmer friend Mr Chen tells us this tea hs a spicy ginger flavor, and ginger is not really our favourite of all tasting notes. But when we drank this, the tinge of sweetness we tasted reminded us of a candy from childhood. This specific Dancong is more accurately know as Tong Tian Xiang Dancong 通天香单丛 , which also belongs to the Ginger Fragrance family of dancong. Tong Tian Xiang translates to a approximate meaning of 'sky filling fragrance', a little abstract for our comprehension. But back to the tasting notes - the sweetness is slightly fruity and does kind of remind us of candied ginger, with a soothing after taste stemming from its 130 year old tree heritage. Mr Chen says it was made on a exceptionally sunny day, which helps the tea develop flavours better. We think this tea better to drink up within the year to best enjoy the 'ginger candy' sweetness. Try it and tell us what you think!
