Dancongs 单丛 include a whole catergory of teas traditionally produced and drank by the Teochew people in Guangdong. Grown on Phoenix Mountains among rocky terrior, this group of tea is loved for its naturally occuring fragrances that is inherent in the tea leaves. The Song Zhong 宋种 is named so as the cultivar was recorded to be grown since the Song Dynasty. This particular batch is made from leaves harvested from 120 year old trees near Da An Village at about 850m above sea level. We love the creamy mouthfeel and the floral sweetness, which lingers in the after taste.
