Individually crafted by artisans, these traditional-made tea canisters by Tokyo-based company Syuro is made to aged with time and matures into more rustic texture. As these canisters are made and polished by hand, each item will have different lines or spots that become less obvious with age. The smallest canister is of the dimensions as that is the physical limit of how small the hand made item can be within the set standard of the makers! With a mind to age these items, no special protective coating has been applied, thus the edges and joints are likely to darker faster with time. Our tin canisters featured in the photo above has gone through rough and tumble to achieve the above industrial look. However, careful keeping of the canisters will mature the reflective surface into a smoother matted look. Double lidded to aid in storage of teas, these canisters are elegant additions to the tea set up. Please do avoid wetting these canisters or keeping them chilled in fridge as the metal is sensitive to long exposure to moisture!
