Buncheong style is traditional Korean style, white white clay slip and transparent glaze over over a clay body. It was used most during the turmoil years during Korea's history, where functionality of the wares were prized over their beauty. Nowadays, buncheong wares are made with aesthetic in mind as well. We love the occasional stoneware clay peeping out of the white slip, and the textured visuals of the white slip.
White buncheong wares do change over time with tea. As the tea colour seeps in, the wares can become darker - a little like maturing with exposure to tea. Using this with lighter teas will probably stain more slowly compared to darker teas.
