Have we mentioned we have a soft spot for white teapots? Especially the matt-white-creamy-touch type like this! Mr Hong gave this white teapot a character beyond its years by using a iron-rich dark clay. During reduction firing using a gas-electric hybrid kiln at 1260 degree celcius, the iron surfaces through the matt white glaze, giving this little teapot a touch of antiquity. We imagine this teapot will be suitable for white teas, light oolongs and hongchas. The white colour may darken over time with use as teas season into the body of the teapot - like a sort of maturing process, we think!
