Dancongs 单丛 are teas traditionally made and drank by the Teochew people from Phoenix Mountains, well loved for their naturally occuring fruity and floral flavors. Dancongs made into Hongchas (western black tea) instead of the usual oolongs are considered the alternative! The name of the cultivar ‘Almond’ here refers to the Chinese Xing Ren 杏仁 aka apricot kernels, not to be confused with the nutty namesake. Brews a cup with lychee sweetness with almond fragrance!
