Lapsang Souchong 正山小种 was invented in Wuyi Mountains during the Qing Dynasty as poor quality teas to be sold to foreigners! Fret not - it’s processing has since evolved! They are exquisitely made and often unsmoked to bring out it’s best qualities! Harvested in early spring from an altitude of 2100m, this batch is from a century-old lot that is 75% forest-covered, made from the indigenous cultivar 奇种菜茶 (Qi Zhong Cai Cha). Brews a smooth cup with notes of scented wood and rose highlights!
