Hongcha where the processing incorporates the rolling method used in the production of oolong teas to achieve the 'honey-like' sweetness.
Honey Hongcha is a type of Taiwanese black tea that is prized for its sweet floral or fruity notes that is usually achieved by a higher degree of bites by the green-leaf hopper, as inspired by the Oriental Beauty Oolong which is made by similar tea leaves. However, this Alishan Hongcha achieves lively shifting flavours from the rolling process that oolong teas go through. The incorporated rolling process thus gives this Hongcha a 'oolong-like' character! And the flavours are very charming indeed!
