We think Mr Hong Seongil is so creative, not just because of the aesthetic textures he experiments with. Every so often, he surprises us with a new form - like this shiboridashi with an upturn spout on the lid! We were curious about the pour when we first laid eyes on it, and it sure pours very nicely!

Made from iron-rich clay from Boesong, where Mr Hong Seongil residues in South Korean, this traditional Buncheong-look-a-like piece is given a breath of modernity with the silver glazed lid as a contrast, applied in a rugged manner for more personality! The Terra Sigillata method (fine white clay slip) gives this pot is beautiful rugged texture! The stoneware body retains heat, thus this pot is more suited for brewing darker oxidised teas that require higher brewing temperatures.

The exterior white glazed body may be stained with tea over time, thus the lover of this pot must be able to appreciate its evolution over time - as it developed more character with tea brewing!

A handy size for kungfu-style brewing for 1-2 persons, of those precious tea stash that we can't bear to drink up too quickly!
