A piece characteristic of Mr Hong's, with exquisite form and a rustic yet refined aesthetic. The rugged, aged texture is created by first applying a black glaze after bisque fire, then layering with a watery ultra refined clay slipped of a bright red or orange colour called Terra Sigillata after second firing, then firing for the final third time. The uneven coverage of the Terra sigillata gives this piece a 'worn by the passage of time' character, paired with a simple elegant form and size that is practical for kungfu tea brewing!
