武夷山 Wuyi Mountains are known for darkly roasted oolongs called 岩茶 yancha (cliff teas). Among which, 瑞 香 Rui Xiang is a more recent hybrid, with the famous 黄旦 Huang Dan as one of the parent cultivar. In this batch, the floral fragrance combines with the roast to evolve from notes of roasted sesame, to honey sweetness and eventually, floral notes! This tea deserves a slow afternoon of multiple brews, to enjoy each layer of flavours, slowly peeled off with each brew.
