The 36 peaks of 武夷山 Wuyi Mountain are famous for their darkly roasted oolongs called 岩茶 yancha (cliff teas). This one from 白云岩 Baiyun Yan (Cloud Cliff) is made from the 肉桂 Rougui aka Cassia cultivar. With the characteristic Yancha’s mineral base that has hints of cinnamon, layered with the caramel notes from the dark roast, the brew eventually yields a buttery floral undertone after multiple brews!
