雨花茶 Yu Hua Cha translates to Rain Flower Tea. Named after the region called 雨花台 Yu Hua Tai Rain Flower Terrace, inspired by the 5-coloured pebbles fabled to be flowers rained from the sky by deities, this tea was only created in 1959 to commemorate the matrys who died in revolutionary establishment of the Rebublic of China. This batch is made from 福鼎大白 Fuding Da Bai, a cultivar more known for its white teas. Harvested in April, the brew is smooth and umami, with notes of melon seeds, followed by watercress in the aftertaste!
