Dancongs 单丛 are the best ambassadors of Chinese tea - sweet, fragrant and easy to appreciate! They are a type of Oolong traditionally grown by the Teochew people in Phoenix Mountains, and are loved for their natural occuring flavours and fragrances that mimic fruits and flowers. The ‘Almond’ here refers to the Chinese Xing Ren 杏仁香 aka apricot kernels, not to be confused with the nutty namesake. Less oxidized than most of the dancong counterparts, this oolong is made from Juduozai 锯剁仔 cultivar, harvested from 115 year old tea trees grown at 950masl. The brew is complex with Xing Ren fragrance and a creamy sweetness, with a base note of warming minerals!
