Renowned in the tea world, Phoenix Mountains from Guangdong in China has always been know for their Teochew teas of Dancong 单丛乌龙茶, a type of Oolong known for its flavours that mimic natural occuring flavours like fruits and flowers. The tea makers of Phoenix Mountains has started exploring different processing methods and started making black teas out of these fragrant tea cultivars. This particular tea is made from the Almond Dancong 杏仁单丛 cultivar, to produce a sweet and fruity brew. This tea is made by a young tea maker Mr Chen from Wudong village; our older tea maker friend still shuns the new unorthodox tea production method!
