‘Green Wind’ is what Soufuu 蒼風 translates into! We sure want a breath of a wind like this! This hybrid was first created in 1977 in Shizuoka, the offspring of the national cultivar Yabukita (which 90% of Jap teas are made of) and Shizu Inzatsu 131 (an Assamica cultivar of Indian origins)! Registered in 2002 in Shizuoka, it is well loved for its floral astringency. The flavours are on the whole gentle, with gentle seaweed umami-ness, rice creaminess and a lingering floral nose.
