One piece of Pistachio Grooved Teacup by Yukiko Saito

Ceramic Artist: Yukiko Saito (Tokyo, Japan)

Our first piece of Yukiko's work was this very cup! We chanced upon them at an exhibition in Taipei and fell in love with it! As a ceramic artist who also brews tea, she makes teaware that are practical for tea brewing. These tea cups are coated with a white matt glaze - Yukiko likes its  effect of softening the harsh flavours of stronger teas! We love the pretty elegance of these grooved patterned cups!

​Clay Body of half porcelain and half white clay.

Glazed interiorly and exteriorly with white glaze.

Reduction fired in gas kiln at 1200 degrees celcius.
