Natural Mountain Clay Gaiwan #2 by Yukiko Saito
Ceramic Artist: Yukiko Saito (Tokyo, Japan)
Yukiko chose this historical clay to present its warm , rustic texture! This pot is made from the moderate iron content Echizen clay from Fukui prefecture, which is loved for its understated, restrained beauty. No wonder this clay, used since the late Heian period about 850 years ago, is still being used today. Yukiko, with her tea-brewer's instinct, created this gaiwan, functionally a joy to brew with! The glazed interior and exterior suits it to brew most teas!
