Ceramic Artist: Kim Whye Kee (Qi Pottery, Singapore)
Whye Kee is a famous Singaporean ceramic artist that grew out of humble roots, and found pottery while contemplating his life when in prison. He is heavily influenced by the traditional Teochew culture.
This celadon katakuchi is one of his earlier works, simple forms and elegant shades that pair easily with most teaware! This is also the last batch of teaware to be produced in Whye Kee's iconic Hougang home studio, holding some sentimental value to Whye Kee.
Stoneware fired by electric kiln.
